Paris, February 09, 2018 – UGGC Avocats advised the shareholders of the Makever group in the context of the sale of the group to Mediawan. Mediawan, an independent platform for audiovisual content in Europe, announced today that it has signed the definitive agreements for the acquisition of the Makever Group.
At the end of the period of exclusive negotiations announced on January 15, 2018, Mediawan today concluded the signature of definitive agreements for the acquisition of a majority stake in the capital of the group Makever with the purchase of the shares held by the investors.
The founders and Management, Matthieu Viala, Stéphane Drouet and Dominik Schmelck, will retain the remaining capital and are joining forces with Mediawan to continue the development of Makever in France and abroad.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the coming weeks and is subject to the satisfaction of the usual conditions precedent for this type of transaction.
Makever is a key player in the production of French fiction. In recent weeks, the group’s programs have played an important role including:
• “Chérif”, whose fifth season ended on February 2 on France 2, and whose sixth season is currently being in preparation,
• “Les Bracelets Rouges”, whose first episodes were broadcast on February 5 on TF1,
• many other programs on the air like the series Maroni broadcast on Arte on January 25,
• the series Prof T, the first episodes of which were broadcast on TF1 on February 8.
